Creating a supportive culture through mental health awareness

MANIC PANORAMIC is an informative, and understandable presentation concerning mental health awareness.

This presentation is not your usual gathering. Through real-life accounts, of the long battle with Bi-Polar Disease and the long road to peace, you will come away with a better understanding of how to help those suffering and how to get the help you may need yourself.
My name is Alice Byrne and I am a motivational speaker with the presentation, Manic Panoramic. I have lived with mental illness for over 40 years. I have been suicidal and hospitalized twice, but today I am alive because of the support of wonderful friends, family, counselors, and doctors.

People don’t pretend to be depressed. They pretend to be happy. They isolate themselves and hide their feelings.
A lot of shame is attached to mental illness, you feel like there is something wrong with you. You don’t want to bother anyone or cry, feeling you might make someone uncomfortable.

One in five people live with mental illness. It was estimated in 2021 that there are over 57 million people suffering in the US alone.
An adult's brain is made up of 7,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 -
SEVEN OCTILLION atoms.
THAT, my friends, is why the medical community hasn't found a cure for mental illness.

We must end the stigma, teach the masses and save lives. We can do this together. There is power in the simplest of actions.
Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day!
Alice

“If you see somebody that’s hurting, don’t look away. And if you are hurting, even though it might be hard, try to find that bravery within yourself to dive deep and go tell somebody and take them up in your head with you.”
“Individual acts of bravery and compassion can change the world. It is time to do the same for mental health.”
